A Little Bit of Paradise: The Abbott Center

The Thursday Patch Passport takes you to a local spa where you can feel like you are a million miles away from the daily stress of life. Come along and relax...

The Abbott Center in Westwood in a completely unique facility that offers an amazing variety of  services, but “it maintains and exceptionally homey feel,” says owner Christina Abbott.

Abbott started the center in 1991 as a private practice. The center focuses mostly on Neuromuscular Therapy, as Abbott is a highly trained Neuromuscular Therapist.

The building itself is a house that has been converted into a treatment center with several treatment rooms that are equipped for hot stone massages, therapeutic massages, deep tissue work and many more fascinating kinds of stress reducing therapies.

The large room off of the entry way faces out onto a beautiful garden which makes guests feel instantly more stress free and as if they have just steppes into someone’s home.

There is also an eating area and snacks laid out for the guests, which just adds to the already very homey feeling. In a separate building, the garage, on the top floor there is a very spacious Pilates studio.

Pilates classes run every day except Sunday, making it accessible for those that are interested. The room is overwhelmed with natural sunlight which gives it a great sense of energy and makes it a wonderful place to practice Pilates.

The Abbott Center is and unparalleled experience.
