Why Go: The Westwood High School girls varsity basketball team will take on Canton at 3 p.m. to kick off the 2012 Riley Hoop Classic Tournament. Come cheer on the Wolverines!

2. Register for a Free Music Demo Class
Where/When: Temple Beth David, 7 Clapboardtree St, Westwood; Saturday, Feb. 18 and Sunday, Feb. 19: All Day
Why Go: Spring semester starts in April, and now's your chance to take part in a free demonstration before classes officially begin. Neponset Valley Music Together offers family classes for children birth to age 5 and the adults who love them.

3. L.L. Bean Outing Club Hiking Excursion
Where/When: Wilson Mountain, Common St., Dedham; Saturday, Feb. 18: 10 a.m.
Why Go: Come along with L.L.Bean on a free group hike of Wilson Mountain in Dedham, with beautiful summit views of the Blue Hills and the Boston skyline. Head over to the mountain at 9:45 a.m. with your hiking shoes, water and snacks, then enjoy a late morning hike from 10 a.m. to noon.

4. Dedham Square Country Market
Where/When: 626 High St, Dedham; Sunday, Feb. 19: 10 a.m.
Why Go: A weekly market will be held at the new Dedham Square Country Market, located in the Odd Fellows building at 626 High Street (next to Nest). The market has been organized by Greg Agnew, proprietor of the Dedham Square Country Market, whose family farm "Lemon Thyme Farm" was a regular vendor at the Dedham Farmers Market last season.

5. Needham Frisbee Club Sunday Game
Where/When: DeFazio Park, Dedham Ave & South St, Needham; Sunday, Feb. 19: 2:30 p.m.
Why Go: Every Sunday from 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m., the Needham Frisbee Club hosts an ultimate Frisbee game at DeFazio Park, on the synthetic fields.
