1. Knowledge Beginnings Open House

Where/When: Westwood Knowledge Beginnings, Westwood; Friday, Aug. 24: 7 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Why Go: Come check out activities and give your family a sneak peek of how everything the local service has to offer. Whether your child has first words or first grade on the horizon, the school has designed every classroom, every activity, and every lesson for learning. It’s how the school's teachers help children discover the wonders of the world and prepare for school success.

2. Damian Israel Shiner in Concert 

Where/When: Paradise Cafe, Dedham; Friday, Aug. 24: 8 p.m.
Why Go: What started as a pre-teen jamming on a cardboard guitar cut-out & lipsyncing to The Kinks and Def Leppard for family and friends has evolved to become some of the most heart-felt and honest songwriting/performing in recent decades. Damian Israel Shiner grew from solo to shinerjones, and now fronts a flexible project involving a rotating crew of "displayers".

3. Little Yogis Free Trial Class

Where/When: Discover Music and Art, Saturday, Aug. 25: 11 a.m.
Why Go: This Saturday, children will have the chance to learn simple animal poses, games, stories, music and breathing exercises that help to strengthen coordination and build body awareness. The class incorporates the use of fun props and the repetition of songs, games, and playful yoga poses.

4. BELKIN FAMILY LOOKOUT FARM Hosts 2nd Annual Family Food Fest presented by NECN & TV Diner

5. Patriot Place Sounds of Summer Concert Series Presented by Patch.com
