A camp specialized for lacrosse players in Westwood is about to begin.

Jake & Jack’s Lacrosse Camp’s first session will take place on Monday, July 16 at Flahive Field in Westwood.

The camp will run Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. The camp’s first session will run July 16-19 for boys entering Grades 1-4. 

The second session will run July 23-26 for boys entering Grades 5-6. The third session will run July 30 and run through Aug. 2 for boys entering Grades 7-8.

Instruction will include coaching on stick skills, shooting, positioning, offense, and defense. The goal of the clinics is to improve players’ lacrosse skills in fun environment.

Jake Cox and Jack Wheeler are both rising juniors at Xaverian Brothers High School, who started their lacrosse careers playing in the Westwood Youth Lacrosse Program. 

Based on their hard work in Westwood’s youth program, they have earned spots on Xaverian’s Varsity Lacrosse Team. 

Both are currently involved in the college recruiting process, and intend to play competitive lacrosse at the collegiate level. 

This spring they had the opportunity to help coach one of the Westwood U15 teams.

They found working with the kids and giving back to the program that got them started incredibly rewarding.
