Westwood’s 9B Summer Baseball Team participated in the Braintree American Little League’s 6th Annual Invitational Tournament recently from July 12 – 15.  

The team opened pool play with a loss to a Braintree American team on Thursday night.  

On Saturday, July 14, the Westwood team bounced back with wins against teams from Dedham and a second Braintree American team.   

The Westwood team entered the semi final round as the top seed. The Westwood team came out hitting and defeated a Braintree National team in the semi final round.  

Westwood advanced to the Tournament Finals against the second Braintree American team that they had played on Saturday.  

The Westwood team was defeated by Braintree American in the Tournament Final.  

The team played some great baseball under hot weather conditions during the Tournament.
