More Than 300 Westwood Seniors Attend Norfolk DA Summit
A large number of Westwood residents recently joined Norfolk District Attorney Michael Morrissey at the 2012 Senior Summit.
The event was aimed at helping educate how criminals target older citizens and ways to avoid becoming a victim.
"Criminals target senior citizens for a number of reasons," Morrissey said in a statement. "Many have accumulated substantial assets from homes owned outright to retirement savings."
Westwood residents Irene MacEachern, Betty Connors and Carolyn Gamin were all on hand alongside area police and fire cheifs at the event, held at Christina's in Foxborough.
Christina Bratiotis, co-author of "The Hoarding Handbook" also spoke at the event, discussing the public health problem of compulsive hoarding.
