Plans are underway for the Annual Giant Plant Sale on Saturday, May 12 on the lawn of the Fisher Schoolhouse starting at 9 a.m.
Featured will be an extensive array of locally grown perennials, herbs, annuals, and shrubs ready to plant and enhance your garden. Specifically, parsley, chives, oregano, thyme, sage, dill, hosta, may apple, veronica speedwell, peonies, iris, sedum, phlox, hemerocallis, columbine, Jacob’s ladder, achillea, vinca, monarda, lady’s mantle, nepeta, ginger, coreopsis, coral bells, evening primrose, muscari, lily of the valley, yucca, aster, ajuga, and spirea, and so many more, too numerous to mention, will be for sale. Annuals and houseplants will perk up every home.
Come early for the best selection of perennials and shrubs, some donated by a local nursery. Experts will be on hand and ready to assist you.
For parking, it is easiest to enter from Nahatan Street and park on the Thurston Middle School drive. The sale will be held rain or shine!
Donations of plants are needed and are welcome anytime prior to the sale. Drop off for contributions is at Lura Provost’s, 68 Milk St., Westwood. The array of plants has already begun to accumulate.
The Giant Plant Sale of 2012 is the Westwood Historical Society’s seventeenth Plant Sale, scheduled to take advantage of the best of the spring on May 12.
Proceeds from the Plant Sale benefit the restoration of the Obed Baker House on High Street and the Society’s community programs.
